Tick Tock and Big News
Hello all!
Well the time is a ticking, and I have been one busy lady, hence no posts in quite a while, luckily I have got some much needed help, particularly from one of our new Style Assistants, Michelle. We will have FREE tickets in the Kilkenny People tomorrow so be sure to pick up a few. You don't need them to get in, it's more of a reminder. We also have spot prizes on the night, all you have to do is fill out a very brief questionnaire, and you could win a nice little item from our basket of goodies.
I want to make sure you all know that there are great opportunities here for the stylists, designers, models and writers amongst you, I will be turning over the Weekender Style page to guest editors, who will come up with the concept, style and words for a page, and get full accreditation, a great start to your portfolio. If any of you have any questions at all, please let me know. You can call us at the studio on (056) 7703312.
Meanwhile the BIG NEWS! Next year will see the launch of the first Kilkenny Style fair, with a fashion show, stalls, makeup and style lessons and more. We are working on the plans at the moment, I have a meeting with our very illustrious mayor tomorrow morning, to discuss the future for the Hennessy Media Style Fair. I will keep you all posted!

models please note!
The countdown is on, i hope you are telling all of your friends to come down if they are interested. Let me remind you, it is completely free. Everyone is donating their time for free, because they want to help out the younger versions of themselves. Remember, you may get a few lucky breaks in this career, but only you can work hard enough to make a success of it.
One blogger raised a few valid points in the comments section of the last post, I have answered it there and I would ask all of you who are interested in modelling for us at the Kilkenny people to read it, so we all know where we stand. So please go to the comments section of the "huge fashion evening" post and read the last posted comments.
If I can answer any more questions, please do not hesitate to ask me, or text me on 083 303 8133. Looking forward to seeing you all there! Hopefully we will have a decent enough turn out...or I may cry a little.
Thank you!

A huge fashion evening!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello all!, thanks for all of your interest in modelling on our pages. We had such a good response, that I felt we needed to organise an evening, so I did. As per usual, I went a little crazy and it has now become.......'An Evening With “Style”….'
Interested in a career in fashion?
Hennessy Media, in association with the Kilkenny People, will be holding a career evening in Langton’s hotel on Thursday, the 2nd of November, from 6pm to 9pm. Entry is completely free, and open to everyone.
We will have a panel of experts who will meet with you one on one to give you advice on how to get into a particular area of fashion.
I will be looking for models, stylists and designers to feature on these pages. Don’t forget, the most successful people in their field usually start at home, so absorb all the information you can. This is not an easy industry to break into, so prepare yourself. Here is all of the information well in advance so you can get yourselves organised!
THE EVENT
So, what’s it all about? Well, so far we have roped in a couple of Kilkenny based young business people to talk you through your future career, and assist you with any questions you may have. Conversations will be on a one on one basis, so, if you are in school, want to move up the career ladder, or just want to set up on your own, call down and have a chat with one of our experts. There will be spot prizes on the night, a make up master class, and style advice. So, treat yourself to an evening with Style. After all, its free gratis!
So who’s on our panel, well, me for one!…
I will be there on behalf of my style and interiors pages in the Kilkenny People. So, if you are one of the following, call down for a chat, you could end up modelling, styling or featuring on one of our pages.
MODELS ; I am looking for models of all ages, any age, shape, weight, height, figure and style. I am also interested in plus size models and some more mature ladies to call down for a chat.
You may be hoping to begin a career in modelling, or maybe you just want to have a laugh with your pals during a shoot. Maybe you want a beautiful photograph of yourself to show your great grandkids. We don’t pay for shoots for the paper, but you do get prints to add to your portfolio, or just to hang in your bedroom.
We will be stock piling the information collected, and some of you will be invited to join our new commercial modelling agency.
We will chat to everyone interested, and book some of you in for shoots there and then.
STYLE ASSISTANTS So you think you want to work on fashion shoots eh? Think you know how to throw an outfit together that will meet every ones satisfaction, meet the deadlines, and make the grade? It’s not easy, it involves a lot of running around, disappointment, hard work and a calm personality. We are always looking for potential style assistants who will help out on shoots. Your time must be donated, but we will publish your name as the Style Assistant, provide you with invaluable experience, and offer you a reference where applicable. Some people just want to be around fashion, we are looking for those who love it so much that they are willing to work hard for it.
STYLE WRITERS Do you think you can work words better than most? Do you feel a need to share your opinions, offer advise, source information? Here at Style, we are open to guest writers, so bring a sample of your work with you, and let’s see if you have what it takes right now, or if you need a little help getting there. We don’t pay for your work, but you could get published, and that is invaluable to your future career.
FASHION DESIGNERS We will also be seeking out the new designers on the block, so if you would like to feature your personally designed shoes, dresses, jewellery or bags, call in for a chat. We can give you a date there and then for your feature, worth thousands of euro, in the Kilkenny People.
INTERIOR DESIGNERS Do you love the world of furniture, design and style? Would you like to feature your work over a page and a half in the Kilkenny People Weekender, worth thousands of euros? Call down for a chat, don’t forget to bring a sample of your work.
